La selección de Portugal ganó este domingo la primera Eurocopa de su historia al derrotar en la prolongación de la final a Francia por 1-0 en el Stade de France de Saint Denis, en las afueras de París.

El único tanto de la noche fue obra del atacante del Lille Éder (109), quien había ingresado en lugar del volante Renato Sanches, con un fuerte remate al palo derecho del portero francés Hugo Lloris.

El partido se vio marcado por la salida por lesión de la estrella portuguesa Cristiano Ronaldo, en el minuto 25, después de sufrir un golpe en su rodilla izquierda por parte del centrocampista francés Dimitri Payet en el minuto 8.
